Kentish community more aware of mental health

Thu, 01/09/2016

PIR funded Glenhaven Family Care, Kentish Family Support House (KFSH), to host a community event in Sheffield to raise awareness and provide education to the community on youth mental health.  The event involved students being introduced to the importance of good mental health.

Funding also supported community members, teachers, parents and youth mentors in undertaking a Mental Health First Aid course.  Forty students also undertook a Teen Mental Health First Aid training.

As an investment in the future the coordinator at KFSH is trained as a MHFA facilitator to conduct courses in the Kentish community.
