Phoenix Centre helps people with mental health issues following torture and trauma

Wed, 31/08/2016

PIR funding was provided to the Phoenix Centre for the purchase of Neurofeedback equipment and associated staff training.

The funds have been used to purchase a laptop, Neurofeedback software and other necessary related equipment for the implementation of Neurofeedback therapy.  This equipment is for additional and alternative support to therapeutic interventions (by counsellors) with clients who are experiencing challenging mental health issues due to traumatic events and torture (prior to arrival in Australia).

The grant was also used to contribute towards training in EEGer Neurofeedback delivery for three staff.  Since training and purchase of equipment, delivery to clients of the EEGer program has progressed well.
