PiR and NDIS

Mon, 25/07/2016

On 1 July 2016, Partners in Recovery enterered a phase of transitioning participants to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

PIR will play an important role in assisting new and existing PIR participants to understand the NDIS, and the way NDIS supports people with "psycho-social disabilities" (the term used to describe people with mental health issues who may be eligible for the scheme).

The "Resources" section on this site will help you to access information about NDIS and our role in its development. These pages contain links to government and non-government websites that are generating useful information about the transition, and are a good starting point for people who are seeking information about the scheme.

Resources for PIR participants are here

Resources for carers and familiy members are here

Resources for the wider community are here

Resources for PIR Staff are in a secure section here  Staff resources include templates and forms, privacy and confidentiality provisions and details of eligibility criteria.

The NDIS website is the source of most of this information, and hosts a very large range of excellent resources to assist groups to understand the scheme.  It includes a section on NDIS in Tasmania.
