PIR supports youth suicide prevention in Kentish

Wed, 06/04/2016

The Health Needs Assessment undertaken in Kentish in 2015 highlighted gaps in mental health service provision in the municipality, particularly in relation to young people. The Kentish Family Support House, located in Sheffield proposed a general community event and a peer support strategy for young people to begin to address these issues. Funded by PIR late in 2015 for implementation early in 2016 these two projects aim to raise awareness of the problem in the wider community and initiate a growing network in which young people can support each other more effectively. In mid 2016 we will receive a report on outcomes and outstanding issues in Kentish.
